If there is any truth whatsoever in the rumour that Real Madrid are interested in signing three Manchester City players then they must have a few bob in the bank. Apparently, they want Kevin De Bruyne, Raheem Sterling and Leroy Sané.
Now we don’t profess to be experts in these matters but, it would seem to us, that receiving a large amount of cash for Raheem Sterling is a decent proposition. There is no doubt that playing under Pep Guardiola has improved him but he is nowhere near being world-class and shouldn’t really be selected ahead of Bernardo Silva.
His finishing, generally, is diabolical and he has a great propensity for losing control of the ball and giving it away. When he receives a pass, he is one of those players who never fills the fans with the confidence that he is about to do something spectacular, or even good, with it.
Selling the other two, De Bruyne and Sané, should not even be considered but, if a decent offer comes in for Sterling, he should be chauffeur-driven to Manchester airport and personally escorted to his seat on the flight to Madrid.
Just to prove that they have oodles of cash, Madrid are also interested in Mo Salah of Liverpool!
In other rumours, José Mourinho appears to have decided that Anthony Martial can leave in the summer. This would probably be a good move for both Manchester United and the player. He seems to be very moody and his performances have been nowhere near good enough or consistent enough to merit a place in the team.

Anthony Martial – Has flattered to deceive at United and the time could be right for a move
Maybe he will ignite his career at another club, maybe he won’t, but he is certainly not of the calibre required at Old Trafford at present.
Current favourites to provide him with a place on a different substitutes bench are PSG.
United are also interested, reportedly, in Southampton full-back Cédric Soares to “provide competition for Antonio Valencia”. We have news for you José, if a 26 year-old Portuguese international genuine full-back can’t get in the team ahead of a 32 year-old Ecuadorian international winger who can’t defend to save his life, then there are bigger problems at Old Trafford than we thought there were.
Liverpool, despite the news that Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will miss not only the rest of the season but the World Cup as well, have their mind on other things. They appear to have lost a little interest in Alisson Becker, Roma’s Brazilian goalkeeper, after finding out first-hand how easy it is to score against him.
In truth, Liverpool’s front three of Mo Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mané have been finding it relatively easy to score past most goalkeepers this season but that will all change next season when Salah is playing for Real Madrid!
Arsenal, as the whole world knows by now, need a new manager. Stubborn Old Man has been told the date on which he will be receiving his P45 and, apparently, there is nothing he can do about it. Even being stubborn hasn’t worked on this occasion!
Will he be a last minute appointment by PSG or will they stick with their reported first choice of Thomas Tüchel? Will he pitch up at another club in France or will Spain will be his choice? Will he stay in England? Might he even stay at Arsenal under a different heading?
He has said he will stay in football whilst admitting that, currently, he has no clue what he is going to do, a little like his team over the last few seasons!

Antonio Conte – In one of his more thoughtful moments
Over at Stamford Bridge confusion reigns supreme. Should he stay or should he go now? Nobody, including Antonio Conte and the hierarchy at Chelsea, appears to know what is going on or, if they do, they are keeping it a secret for absolutely no logical reason.
Conte hasn’t looked happy for ages but, then again, he has to live in London and put up with all that traffic every day!
Supporters will be delighted to know that, despite the fact that they may be managerless for a short period, both Arsenal and Chelsea would appear to have transfer targets although who decided on which players is a mystery.
And finally…..
Tottenham Hotspur don’t appear to be doing anything of any interest to anybody. Unless, of course, you count Daniel Levy frantically calculating how much he needs to charge Spurs fans to enter his new palace kingdom which is due to open at the start of next season.
No doubt he will arrive at an extortionate figure which will create a mini-rebellion amongst supporters for a short while before all is forgiven and they turn up in their thousands thus ensuring the continuation of that great English tradition which dictates that the rich continue to get richer at the expense of the poor.
