Providing Ed the Incompetent doesn’t mess things up, which is always a very strong possibility, then it would appear that Bruno Fernandes is about to sign for Manchester United. Is he a good signing or not? We here at WSA happen to think he would be a very good signing. In fact, we thought he would be a very good signing last summer when United could have bought him for less than now. So why didn’t they?

Well apparently they weren’t too impressed with the content of their scouts reports which said that he often gave the ball away. Strange this because, that being the case, he should have been a perfect fit for this team, all of whom are extremely adept at this very unwelcome skill! (more…)

The best recent centre-back pairing at Old Trafford has been Rio Ferdinand alongside Nemanja Vidić.

Since then there have been numerous partnerships tried, millions of pounds wasted and José Mourinho is STILL moaning about needing a new centre half!

Currently at the club, not including the younger players, are Chris Smalling, Phil Jones, Marcos Rojo, Victor Lindelof and Eric Bailly.

Rocket scientists may choose to disagree but we don’t think that ALL the managers who have been involved in these purchases were bad managers. They certainly made some bad choices at times but to continually get the centre-backs wrong is just plain careless. (more…)

Where is Paul Pogba going to be playing his football next season? Well, it depends upon your rag of choice. According to The London Evening Standard he is going to Turin where he will find Juventus waiting for him. This deal would see Miralem Pjanić go the other way.

But wait a minute! The Daily Express say that he is going to Barcelona and, not only that, but they know the real reason why! He wants to play with Lionel Messi, so there!

So, reading between the lines, Paul Pogba will be going nowhere and will line up alongside Fred and Nemanja Matić in United’s midfield in the coming season. (more…)

Jack Grealish has decided to represent England at international level.

This assumes that, at some stage in the future, he is actually selected. He should be though, as England do not have a plethora of gifted players from which to make their selection.

He has already played for the Republic on nearly twenty occasions from under-17 to under-21 levels and qualified under the grandparent rule. Now, by choosing England, he stands to make a lot more money but little else.

Small fish, large pond or large fish small pond. Basically that was the choice facing Jack Grealish, who has always maintained that his heart is Irish, unlike his wallet which is English. (more…)
